Cuando vivía en Milán, mi amiga Tracy de Beirut siempre solía llevar un asombroso collar con varios dijes vintage. Un día le pregunté donde lo había conseguido y ahí fue cuando me habló de Vanina {Bijoux & Caprices}. Desde ese día he sido fan de la marcas través de las redes sociales y pensé que ya era hora de presentárselas. Vanina fue creada por Tatiana Fayad & Joanne Hayek. Estas dos amigas de infancia que comparten una pasión y creatividad por la moda fundaron la marca en el 2007. Las colecciones están basandas en el concepto del reciclaje y la transformación de objetos del día a día que se han vuelto “obsoletos” (como viejas monedas, CD’s usados, lupas, etc.) en piezas de joyas únicas. Estas chicas se inspiran de todo lo que las rodea pero mas que nada de su nación; su cultura y su pueblo. Los diseños han evolucionado varias veces, siempre creando piezas hechas a mano, uniendo lo moderno con lo vintage o lo industrial con lo artesanal de una forma divertida. Cada temporada consiste en 4 nuevas líneas de joyas, complementadas con una serie de varias piezas de moda que pueden ser bolsos, zapatos, ropa y sombreros; llamadas “Les Caprices de Vanina” (Los Caprichos de Vanina). Las piezas son asequibles, la colección de joyas “Bijoux” va entre los $40 - $230 dólares, y los “Caprices” entre los $50 - $380 dólares.

When I lived in Milan, my friend Tracy from Beirut used to wear this amazing necklace made from different vintage charms. One day I asked her where she got it and she told me about Vanina {Bijoux & Caprices}. From that day on I've been following their work through all the social media channels and now I though it was time for me to introduce them to you.

Vanina was founded by Tatiana Fayad & Joanne Hayek. These two childhood  friends who share a passion and creativity for fashion statement items created this brand in 2007. The line is based on a concept of recycling and transforming objects of the everyday that have become obsolete (old coins, used CDs, magnifying lenses, etc.), into unique jewelry pieces. They're inspired by everything that surrounds them but mostly their country, its culture and its people. Their designs have evolved into numerous collections of handmade pieces, known for their unique blend of vintage and modern styles that merges the handcraft and the industrial with a strong sense of fun. Each season, they create four new jewelry lines, complemented by various series of fashion pieces labeled "Les Caprices de Vanina", that are spontaneous collections of bags, shoes, clothes and hats.The pieces could be very affordable, the Collection "Bijoux" ranges varies from $40 to $230, and the "Caprices" ranges from $50 to $380
